LONDON RF chip design group Anadigics has opened an application center in Taiwan to support a growing list of OEM and ODM customers in the area for its WLAN, CDMA, and GSM RF devices.
Last October, the company opened its first facility in Taiwan, in Hsinchu, to support manufacturing operations in the Asian wireless and broadband markets. The applications centre is located in Taipei, near the manufacturing operation.
The company says it has already taken on several local experts to staff the applications center and support the development of reference designs based on its latest quad-band GSM power amplifiers, highly integrated front-end modules and pHEMT RF switch products.
"The Taiwan market represents enormous opportunity as industry trends continue to drive the migration of handset and WLAN terminal design activity to Asia," said Dr. Bami Bastani, CEO & President of Anadigics. "Over the years we have built strong relationships with leading Taiwanese OEMs and ODMs. This new application center will provide greater depth of support to our existing customers as well as new customers in the region by providing local RF expertise for new platforms that rely on Anadigics' leading RF products."
Anadigics opened a design center last October in Denmark to support European customers.
