AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- REAL Software, provider of REALbasic, cross-platform that really works, announced that REALbasic 2007 Release 1 is shipping today. Now, REALbasic and applications built with REALbasic 2007 will run on Windows Vista. Applications built on previous versions of REALbasic will run on Vista, but the current release has some added functionality to make it more consistent with Windows Vista's user interface guidelines.

In addition to Windows Vista, any Windows application created with REALbasic 2007 will also run without modification on

Windows 98 Windows ME Windows NT 4 Windows 2000 Windows 2000 Advanced Server Windows XP Windows 2003 Server Windows Media Center Edition Windows Tablet Edition

Because REALbasic automatically creates theme savvy applications, they look and behave correctly on all versions of Windows. Also, REALbasic creates self-contained executables that are easily deployed, without the need for external DLLs, pre-installed frameworks or other dependencies that increase deployment and support costs.

REAL Software also announced today that REALbasic 2007's Office Automation capabilities now support Microsoft Office 2007, enabling REALbasic developers to create applications that interoperate with the latest version of Microsoft Office.
