CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Verigy (NASDAQ:VRGY), a premier semiconductor test company, today announced that its longtime customer QUALCOMM has added its 25th Verigy V93000 SoC tester to its test floor. This marks the 1500th V93000 system installed at Verigy customer sites worldwide.

QUALCOMM uses the V93000 for test development for its QUALCOMM Single Chip (QSC) line of products, which feature integrated modem, RF, power management and multimedia capabilities for entry-level multimedia handsets. By integrating these discrete components, OEMs can lower development and manufacturing costs, reduce bill-of-materials and accelerate time to market. Products are then tested in high-volume manufacturing centers throughout Asia.

Reducing testing costs is a vital issue for all of our customers, but perhaps especially for those like QUALCOMM in the fast-paced, competitive mobile wireless market, said Pascal Ronde, vice president of sales, service and support, Verigy. The V93000 provides the broad range of capabilities needed to test all the functionality in QUALCOMMs state-of-the-art, highly integrated QSC line, with the high throughput and multi-site for lowest test costs. At the same time, the V93000 also delivers the accuracy and repeatability needed to meet QUALCOMMs high quality standards.

About the Verigy V93000

The Verigy V93000 provides a scalable platform architecture for testing SoCs, system-in-packages (SIPs) and high-speed memory devices. The V93000, now with more than 1,500 systems installed worldwide, meets the industrys demanding performance and cost challenges, whether for at-speed engineering characterization or high-volume production. The test system provides massive multi-site capabilities, with data rates up to 12.8 Gbps and supports a full range of digital, mixed-signal and RF applications. It provides low cost-of-test for wireless applications such as cellular, WLAN, WiMax, and UWB.

About Verigy

Verigy designs, develops, manufactures, sells and services advanced test systems and solutions for the memory and system-on-chip segments of the semiconductor industry. Verigys scalable platform systems are used by leading semiconductor companies worldwide in design validation, characterization, and high volume manufacturing test. Formerly part of Agilent Technologies, the company began doing business as Verigy on June 1, 2006, and completed its initial public offering on June 13, 2006.
