Palo Alto, Calif. — The Advanced Model Composer tool brings passive RF component modeling capabilities to the Advanced Design System (ADS) 2003A EDA software suite. This tool automatically generates EM accurate models that are customized to the target frequencies and process properties of specific designs. The tool also provides passive component models, such as spiral inductors and transmission-line matching elements, that run at speeds comparable to those of fast analytical models.

The new modeling tool features adaptive modeling algorithms that are based on the company's multidimensional adaptive parameter sampling (MAPS) technique. MAPS allows users to build a global fitting, compact model of user-defined parameters. Designers can then use these models for design optimization and tuning.

Target applications for the new modeling tool include cellular phone, wireless networking, and broadband networking applications.

Pricing: Starts at approximately $8400
