Rochester, N.Y. — Designed for telecom platforms, the IPnexus CPC6600 from provides Layer 2/Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet switching capabilities to PICMG 2.16 chasses.

The switch can function as the core of a blade server chassis or as a standalone device within an embedded chassis. It can be integrated into high-availability applications such as wireless infrastructure equipment, military communications systems and VoIP media gateways, in addition to open-architecture server blade systems.

The switch features two dozen 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports, with multiple configuration options; dual 44Gbit/second switching fabrics for Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing at wire speed; real-time continuous integrity checks to eliminate latent system failures; Rapid Spanning Tree (IEEE 802.1w), link aggregation, VRRP (virtual router redundancy protocol) and jumbo frame support, and a fast filter processor for Layer 2-7 packet classification and filtering, also at wire speed.

Pricing: $6,995
Availability: Production deliveries should begin next month
