Woburn, Mass. — The SKY77500 combines a transmit power amplifier and RF antenna switches into an 8 x 10-mm laminate-based multi-chip module. Designed for GSM/GPRS handset designs, the transmit module operates in the 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz bands and supports Class 12 GPRS multi-slot operation. The module consists of 850/9000 and 1800/1900 MHz power amplifier blocks, impedance matching circuitry for 50-ohm inputs/output, transmit harmonic filtering, pHEMT RF switches, external interface circuitry, and decoder circuitry for controlling the RF switches. The product sports a 31- to 34-dBm output power range, a 25 to 42% typical power added efficiency (PAE) range, and a 2.9- to 4.8-V operating supply voltage range.
