VoIP cable modem chipset
A chipset solution has been unleashed for voice-activated cable modem and residential gateway applications. The new solution features the TNETC4320 communication processor, the TNETC4042 integrated DOCSIS PHY and MAC, as well as software products developed by Telogy. The comm processor sports a dual-core TMS320C54x DSP with a 125-MIPS RISC CPU. The processor also includes a PCI interface, an eight-port USB controller, two 10/100 Ethernet Mlls, and a security engine. The MAC/ PHY is a based on the architecture employed in the development of the CableLabs-certified TNETC4040. The Telogy software rounds out the chip set solution, bringing VoIP capabilities to the chip set.

5-GHz WLAN chipset
Targeting wireless LAN apps, the ICM3004 is a four-IC chipset that is capable of supporting data rates up to 54 Mbps using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and 64-QAM modulation schemes. The SiGe chipset includes a uniband receiver IF IC, uniband transmitter IF IC, uniband transmitter IF IC, uniband receiver IF IC. Developed using an SiGe process, all four ICs operate in 20-MHz wide channels. The chipset can support 12 channels when operating in IEEE 802.11a environments and up to 18 channels in HiperLAN/2 environments.

Networking MAC/ PHY chip
Aimed at Ethernet switches, Internet backbone equipment, and other networking designs, the L88800 octal MAC/PHY chip sports a split bus or a bus interface programmable for 64-, 32-, or 16-b bidirectional operation. Infrastructure DSP
The MSC8102 has been unveiled for , which delivers 4,800 MMACS, is targeted at infrastructure designs such as packet telephony media gateways, multichannel modem banks, DSLAMs, and 3G wireless base stations. This IC integrates four 300-MHz Star*Core SC140 extended DSP cores and 11.5 Mb of on-chip memory. Additional features include 16 ALUs on chip, four 300-MHz EFCOPs, dual external PowerPC (60x-compatible) buses, four independent TDM interfaces with 400 Mbps peak performance, a memory controller, and a 32-channel on-chip DMA engine. Sporting a 1.6-W power dissipation, the DSP resides in a 18- x 18-mm or 16- x 16-mm FC-PBGA.

Synchronous clock generator
Designed for telecom and datacom applications where designs must conform to a Stratum synchronization or SONET architecture, the SCG 450 is a digital phase-locked loop (PLL) generating 155.56 MHz LVPECL outputs from a VCXO with two 8-kHz inputs. OC-192 fiber-optic link
Integrating transmitter and receiver functions onto a single IC, the VSC7166 10-Gbps very short reach (VSR) optical interconnect IC is used to interface SONET OC-192 framers with parallel optical modules. The IC converts 16-b, 622-MHz SONET-framed data to twelve 1.244-Gbps serial data ports. Compliant with Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) 99.120 standards, the IC uses 2.5- and 1.8-V power supplies and resides in a 256-pin BGA package.

Multiprotocol wireless IC
Two new ICs for wireless multipoint communication devices, the e8720 wireless Bluetooth and the e8715 wireless ICs, combine the functionality of a DSP core, a microprocessor core, a baseband controller, flash memory, analog interfaces, and the eMOS RTOS. Both ICs handle multiple baseband protocols including Blue-tooth, 802.11a/b, DECT, HyperLan, and HomeRF. The e8720 features a 32-b microprocessor running at 60-MHz, a TCP/ IP protocol stack, and three 8-b A/D converters. RF transmitters
Aimed at portable wireless data markets, the AT86RF401U, AT86RF401E, and AT86RF401X transmitters contain an integrated PLL-stabilized frequency synthesizer and a RF power amp. The AT86RF401U is aimed at systems operating in the 315 MHz US band. The AT86RF401E is designed for systems working in the 434 MHz band. The AT86RF401X, on the other hand, can be configured externally for any output frequency. Ethernet voltage suppressor
The PSLC03/PSLC03C series of transient voltage suppressor (TVS) devices reside in an SOT 143 surface-mount package and are designed to protect Ethernet data I/O ports against charged cables, ESD, and EFT transient threats. The suppressors support insertion loss of less than -5 dB at 1 GHz, a 3.3 to 24 V voltage , and ESD protection to >25kV with a peak pulse power rating for 175W for an 8/20-microseconds waveshape. The CGB240 and T628 power amplifiers have been released for Bluetooth, HomeRF, and WLAN designs. Manufactured using an InGaP process technology, the two amps sport four power output step settings: +23, +17, +12, and +7 dBm. Linux development kit

Smart phone platform
TCo-developed with Psion PLC, InfoStream is designed to be a silicon platform for next-generation wireless Internet devices, such as 3G smart phones and PDAs. The silicon platform is powered by Symbian's EPOC OS and the ARM 920T microprocessor core. The ARM core works at 200 MHz when running at 2.5V or 150 MHz when running from a 1.8V supply. The platform also supports a range of other OSes, including Pocket-PC, Palm, and Linux.
