802.15 WPAN standard
Telelogic announced that the IEEE 802.15 Working Group for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) has selected the Telelogic Tau SDL Suite to develop the new 802.15 standard. The 802.15 Working Group, which is part of the IEEE Project 802 LAN/MAN
standards committee, is addressing the WPAN requirements for PCs, PDAs, peripherals, cellular phones, pagers, and consumer electronic devices to communicate and interoperate with one another. The new standard will allow wireless electronic devices to communicate with each other within a 10-meter radius. These devices may include desktops, cell phones, mobile computers, printers, portable digital audio players, pagers and more. WPAN technology can reduce redundant data entry, duplication of information, hardware
I/O components, and software functions.
