Santa Clara, Calif. A family of inverse multiplexer ATM (IMA) devices have been developed for wireless base stations and DSL equipment. These devices provide an auto detect feature that allows equipment designs to remotely configure up to eight IMA groups at a far-end unit. The devices also sport a link backup feature that automatically adds a backup link when a previously configured link fails.
Two products are available at the launch of the family: the 16-channel 82V2616 and eight-channel 82V2608. Both products are delivered in PBGA packages.
Pricing: In 10,000-unit quantities, the 16-channel part is priced at $63 while the eight-channel part is offered at $36.
Availability: Sampling now. Production in Q4 2003.
